uMuntu ngumuntungabantu and Mothokemotho ka batho “I am because you are and you are because we are” ~ African Proverb
To provide a channel for South African businesses to meaningfully incorporate CSR and BBBEE imperatives into their philosophies.
There are onerous regulatory and governance responsibilities imposed on businesses today. Stakeholders increasingly expect companies to be good corporate citizens and compliance is increasingly a pre-requisite to engagement. A happy corollary to our mission is our ability to provide you with BBBEE and CSR solutions which allow your business to meaningfully contribute to demonstrable social upliftment.
Community Uplitment
“There is no passion to be found in playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living” ~ Nelson Mandela
To provide a channel for South African businesses to meaningfully incorporate CSR and BBBEE imperatives into their philosophies.
It is central to our vision that our efforts should be concentrated to make a tangible difference. Our activities are therefore, largely, concentrated on the upliftment of a community
Empowerment
“Let me plead with you, lovers of my Africa to carry with you into the world the vision of a new Africa” ~ Robert Sobukwe
Empowerment is not just a governmental policy; it is a foundational principle upon which we operate which is essential to the promotion of equality. In particular, the empowerment of women is a guiding principle in our activities.
Empowering people is to grow their strengths; to facilitate their ability to develop as individuals; families and communities. Empowerment is to enhance economic participation and minimise reliance on ‘handouts’. Empowerment is aimed at facilitating the escape from the poverty trap.
EDucation
“If we want to reach real peace in the world, we should start educating children” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
We believe that education is key to empowerment. Education encompasses formal – primary; secondary and tertiary education – as well as informal and community education driven by community engagement.
Education is an indispensable tool to reach an individual’s potential. It is a means to alleviate poverty and uplift future generations. It empowers by engendering skills development and personal growth. We believe that education is a lifelong process – from the cradle to the grave.
Dignity
‘Your ordinary acts of love and hope point to the extraordinary promise that every human life is of inestimable value” ~ Desmond Tutu
Dignity is at the essence of what it means to be human. It is a right enshrined in our Constitution. Dignity means being valued and respected for who you are. Everything we do is guided by the obligation to honour and respect the dignity of others. There is no giving and receiving … there is reciprocity.
Environment
“I am an African. I owe my being to the hills and the valleys, the mountains and the glades, the rivers, the deserts, the trees, the flowers, the seas and the ever-changing seasons that define the face of our native land” ~ Thabo Mbeki
We recognise that every person has a responsibility to the environment. Without respect for the environment – which includes respect for our companion and farm animals – there is little prospect of sustainable development. It is imperative to establish educational and practical initiatives to foster community environmental sustainability.
We hope to foster community respect for the environment by promoting waste management programmes; water conservation and education programmes; community greening projects and educational initiatives.
